About this tool
The QR Code Generator is a free online tool that creates custom QR codes with your own colors, dot styles, corner shapes, and even a logo in the center. Everything runs entirely in your browser - no upload, no signup, no tracking. QR codes work for URLs, plain text, Wi-Fi credentials, contact cards, phone numbers, and many other formats.
How it works
1
Enter your content
Paste a URL, plain text, phone number, or any other text you want to encode. The QR code updates in real time as you type.
2
Pick a style and colors
Choose a preset (Classic, Modern, Dots, Elegant), pick your foreground and background colors, and adjust the error correction level. Higher ECC (Q or H) is recommended if you add a logo.
3
Upload your logo (optional)
Drop in a PNG, JPG, SVG or WebP file up to 500 KB. Square images up to 1024x1024 work best. The logo appears in the center without breaking the scan.
4
Download PNG or SVG
Click Download PNG for a raster image ready for web or social media, or Download SVG for a scalable vector image ideal for print.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this QR code generator really free? v
Yes. It is completely free with no signup, no email, no hidden fees, and no limits on the number of QR codes you can generate.
Do my QR codes expire? v
No. This tool generates static QR codes - the data is encoded directly inside the QR pattern. They never expire and do not depend on any server. Dynamic QR codes (with tracking or editable destinations) are a different kind of service.
What error correction level should I use? v
For a plain QR code, M (medium, ~15%) is fine. If you add a logo or plan to print the QR on a surface that might get scratched, use H (maximum, ~30%) so the code still scans even if part of it is covered.
Can I add my company logo to the QR code? v
Yes. Upload a PNG, JPG, SVG or WebP file up to 500 KB. The logo is placed in the center of the QR. Use error correction level H so the QR still scans reliably. Square images up to 1024x1024 work best.
What is the difference between PNG and SVG? v
PNG is a raster format - a fixed-size image, ideal for websites and social media. SVG is a vector format - infinitely scalable without loss of quality, ideal for print (business cards, flyers, packaging).
Is my data sent to a server? v
No. Everything - generation, styling, and download - happens in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to any server, and no analytics track the content you encode.
How big should the QR code be for print? v
As a rule of thumb, the QR code should be at least 2 cm x 2 cm (0.8 inch x 0.8 inch) for scanning from a phone held at arm's length. Bigger is always safer - especially on posters or billboards.
Why does my QR code not scan? v
Common reasons: low contrast between foreground and background (avoid light-on-light), too much of the QR covered by a logo (use error correction H), or too small a print size (aim for at least 2 x 2 cm).
